A couple of weeks ago, Tim and I decided to go away for the weekend to his parent’s cabin in the woods (very different from the one in the movie). It is located in upstate New York, in the Adirondacks. After moving apartments at the beginning of the month, we both felt the need to get away and go somewhere remote.
This cabin is perfect for that. It’s on the edge of a river in a location where you won’t get cell reception (but you do get internet). You do not hear cars, ambulances or any sort of city noise. The most you’ll hear are the birds chirping and the neighbor mowing his lawn. We both enjoy spending time there with family, but it was a short stay; we got there Friday night and we left Sunday afternoon. Nonetheless, we had a great time. We had the opportunity to go on a boat for a couple of hours, and the weather was very nice on Saturday. It was chilly (at least for me), but it was very, very sunny.
What I wore:
Given that we were in the Adirondacks and in the middle of nowhere, I opted for a comfy and cozy outfit. I didn’t want to do too much, I was there to relax. My priority was to be comfortable. When I know that I might get cold, I like to wear a t-shirt or undershirt from the heat-tech range from Uniqlo. This time was no different. You cannot see it on the pictures, but I am wearing a heat-tech tank top that helped me keep extra warm while outside. I opted for some Lululemon leggings, which are the most comfortable thing ever. They are on the pricey side, but so worth the money. Then on top, I am wearing this long knit sweater from Primark.
All of this, with my favorite pair of Diesel boots. These boots are one of the best fashion investments I have made. I bought them 9 years ago, and they are still going! I accessorized with my usual Minoux Tiny Bar and with my Oakley sunglasses.
